Volunteer Needed for Needham’s Conservation Commission

From the Town of Needham website:

The Town of Needham is seeking a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Conservation Commission. The Needham Conservation Commission is a seven-member volunteer Board appointed by the Board of Selectmen to administer the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (MGL Ch. 131 S. 40) and Regulations (310 CMR 10.00) and the Needham Wetlands Bylaw (Article 6) and regulations. In addition to its regulatory function, the Commission also oversees the Town’s conservation lands, including the Ridge Hill Reservation. No specific experience is required, although familiarity with general concepts of ecology and the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act is desirable. Interested candidates are urged to attend a public meeting of the Conservation Commission; meetings are generally held the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 7:30 pm in the Charles River Conference Room at the Public Services Administration Building, 500 Dedham Avenue. More information on the Conservation Commission can be found on the Town’s website at: http://www.needhamma.gov/index.aspx?NID=457.
